Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Irvine is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Irvine is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Glad to see that they've maintained their standards! π The menu offers a decent range of pot flavors to choose from and is pretty similar to their other locations. The quality of everything is still great, and I recommend coming before 3pm to get your complimentary tea during lunch hours. They've added a couple of new items on the menu every so often, so be sure to keep an eye out for those. I recommend getting their Beef or Thai-flavored pots with vermicelli if you've never been. * Thai: 10/10 - great flavor and has both meat and seafood * Beef: 9/10 - variety of veggies and beef with flavorful broth Compared to the other Boiling Point locations, this one is probably one of the more spacious ones with plenty of seating and booths. The lighting is also a lot brighter since the tables are lined up against the windows, so there's tons of natural sunlight coming through. The workers were very attentive and helpful during our service compared to the last time we came. The restaurant is located in the popular Heritage Plaza in Irvine, so it will definitely get crowded at peak times. We can't wait to come back! π«Άπ»

Iβve been going to Boiling Point in Irvine for years and itβs always a great experience. The staff are always around checking if you need anything, and the food comes out very fast. I usually order the beef soup with vermicelli (no pork meatballs) and it never disappoints!

Itβs been a few years since I last came to eat here! That day, we ordered two hot pots and added some vegetables, noodles, and fish tofu. The hot pot ingredients were plentiful, and the milk broth was quite good. Overall, the service was also nice, and the food was served quickly. It would be even better if the complimentary drinks included a sugar-free option.

Boiling Point β Taiwanese Spicy Hot Pot If youβre craving authentic Taiwanese spicy hot pot, this place is a must. The broth is flavorful, rich, and packs the perfect level of heat. Ingredients are fresh, and the portions are generous. Be prepared for a waitβthereβs often a long line, and parking is limited. That said, the service is impressively quick once youβre seated, so the line moves faster than youβd expect. Worth every minute of the wait!
